Audio: Candidates discuss positions on legalizing medical marijuana at OKC forum

A candidate forum on medical marijuana was held on April 20, 2016. Organized by Oklahoma Coalition to End Prohibition and Oklahomans for Health, the event was held in Oklahoma City and moderated by Chelsea Marlett-Kennedy and William Patrick Jones.

The position of participating candidates was unanimous in legalizing for medical purposes, but differences emerged in regards to implementation and whether legalization should also be sought for recreational use. There was a wide diversity of experience with marijuana, as well as with conditions which have been shown to benefit from the medicinal features of the cannabis plant.

The hosting organizations are initiating a petition drive to seek a question on the ballot for state voters.
