Notice: Due to changes in the Facebook API, we are no longer able to import events in an efficient way. This was how most of our listings were sourced, so it results in a much less populated calendar. Since Facebook is still tweaking its API, we are waiting to see if this will be fixed before seeking other solutions. We apologize for any inconvenience. More info.

Art and Conversation About Death and the County Jail

May 4 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Artist Maureen Harvey’s show, “There But for the Grace of God: Art and Conversation About Death in the County Jail, is a must-see. She writes, “I saw the faces of “19 people who died in prison” in the Daily Oklahoman in April of 2017. As long as I see prisoners as the “other” I don’t have to imagine their pain and despair. Instead I was compelled to paint these faces as a way of connecting to their humanity. They speak to me; what do they say to you?”
