Norman Groovefest 2017

October 1, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Since 1986, local activists, artists, and musicians have gathered in Norman, previously twice per year, to promote human rights through arts and community. This is our 31st year, our 56th event, and still our passion for local and global human rights continues.

Terry Ware, local esteemed musician and friends, are organizing a meaningful and talented line-up of generous musicians, such as The Red Dirt Rangers, Greg Standridge, Bob French, Peggy Johnson, and more.

What was once an event created by students in Human Relations at OU and Fine Arts, with the blessing of Dr. Henderson and many others, continues today with support from local businesses, families, and friends of Norman, Oklahoma, and human rights. Come to the park, and listen to musicians and volunteers share their voice and talent in honor of human rights.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 10 December 1948, was the result of the experience of the Second World War.
