Notice: Due to changes in the Facebook API, we are no longer able to import events in an efficient way. This was how most of our listings were sourced, so it results in a much less populated calendar. Since Facebook is still tweaking its API, we are waiting to see if this will be fixed before seeking other solutions. We apologize for any inconvenience. More info.

Strategize Your City: Tulsa OK

January 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

How can your organization become THE dominant force in city politics?  This workshop introduces the basics of creating a long-lasting coalition that elects true representatives of the people every election.  In this workshop, The Incorruptibles guide you through the five key areas you’ll focus on to build a strong grassroots movement to take over your city.  Our model for city organizing is based on the incredible success of the Richmond Progressive Alliance, which over the course of a dozen years elected a two-term mayor and maintains a super-majority on the city council, all candidates who were cultivated by the RPA.

Green Country DSA, in coalition with Our Revolution Northeastern Oklahoma and the Oklahoma African American Federation Democratic Club, will be hosting the Incorruptibles, a grassroots organization that is trying to create a new movement to empower new candidates in local and municipal elections without the help of big donors and creating an infrastructure of people-powered politics. Why stop with one candidate like Bernie Sanders, when we can take that model and make a thousand more? Let hundreds of  red roses bloom! We are honored to help this effort in any way,

If you are interested in volunteering for local campaigns, community organizing, or possibly running for office in 2018 or 2020, please come out and meet people that want to connect with you, and learn skills that can apply broadly to all of the above! Space is limited. A maximum of 70 participants will be accepted. Please RSVP as soon as you know you can make it! The workshop will be offered entirely free. Donations, however, will be wlecome!
